Anti-Cloud Scanner — Privacy Policy

The short version

Everything you scan stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no analytics and no cloud. From version 1.1.0 the free tier of Anti-Cloud Scanner is supported by a single banner ad served by Google AdMob; to request it the app needs internet access and uses your device's advertising ID. That ad request is the only thing that ever leaves your phone, it never contains a scan, and this policy explains exactly what it involves. Buying the one-time Lifetime Pro unlock removes the ad entirely. Earlier versions (1.0.x) carried no ads and had no internet permission at all.

How the app works

You photograph a document with your camera. The text is read on your device using your phone's built-in, offline text-recognition engine (Google ML Kit on Android, Apple Vision on iOS). The image and the recognized text never leave your device: the app has no backend to send them to. The app's only network activity is requesting ads from Google AdMob (see Advertising below), and that request carries no image, no text and no document.

Advertising

From version 1.1.0, the free tier of Anti-Cloud Scanner is supported by ads. It displays a single banner ad served by Google AdMob at the bottom of the Review screen, below the Save / Extract / Export buttons. There is no full-screen ad, no ad on launch and no ad over the camera viewfinder. Users who have bought Lifetime Pro see no ads at all, and the ad SDK is not initialised for them.

To request an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the app sends the following to Google and its advertising partners:

• Your device's advertising ID (a resettable identifier Android provides for advertising) and app-set ID.
• Your IP address, from which Google derives an approximate location. Anti-Cloud Scanner never asks for location permission.
• Coarse device and app information — device model, OS version, app version, and interaction with the ad itself.
• Diagnostics about the ad request, such as whether it loaded.

This data is collected by Google and shared with Google as an advertising partner. It is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google's handling of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the AdMob partner policies.

Consent in Europe. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a Google-certified consent form the first time it runs and records your choice. If you do not consent to personalised advertising, the app requests non-personalised ads instead. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Ad content is limited to Google's "G" (general audience) rating.

Where your scans are stored

Scans and any exported PDFs are held in the app's own private, on-device storage. If you choose Save to Gallery, the app writes that single image to your device's photo gallery — an add-only action on your device. The app never reads or browses the rest of your gallery. No scan, text or PDF is transmitted off the device at any point — the ad request described above carries none of them.

Permissions

• Camera — Required. Used to photograph the document you want to scan. Frames are processed on-device; audio recording is disabled.
• Save to gallery (write-only) — Optional. Used only when you tap Save to Gallery, to add a scan to your device's photos. The app never reads your library.
• Billing — Optional. Used only if you choose to buy the one-time Pro upgrade (see below). Handled by the Google Play Store app, not by us.
• Internet — Used solely to request ads. Your scans, text and PDFs are never sent over it.
• Advertising ID — Used by Google AdMob to serve ads, as described above. Not used at all once Lifetime Pro is unlocked.

One-time Pro purchase

The app offers a single, optional, one-time in-app purchase (Anti-Cloud Scanner Pro) that unlocks unlimited text extraction and PDF export and removes the banner ad. The purchase is processed entirely by the Google Play Store. We never see or receive your name, card number, or any payment details — Google handles the transaction. Google's handling of that purchase is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The app itself stores only a local flag recording that Pro is unlocked; that flag stays on your device.

Data Retention & Deletion

All of your documents live on your device only. Because we operate no servers, there is nothing for us to retain, delete, or hand over. The advertising data described above is held by Google under its own retention rules, not by us.

• Delete individual scans from within the app, or
• Go to Settings → Apps → Anti-Cloud Scanner → Storage → Clear Data to erase all locally stored app data, or
• Uninstall the app to permanently remove everything associated with it from your device.
• Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Ad content is restricted to the general-audience "G" rating.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always indicated by the "Last updated" date above. The September 30, 2026 update introduced the Advertising section when the free tier became ad-supported.
