This Privacy Policy explains how the Hunt mobile application
(the “App”, package name com.ovctech.hunt), developed by
Rizwan Shoaib (“we”, “us”, “our”),
handles your information. In short: everything you type into Hunt stays on your
phone, and Hunt is free because it shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob.
Serving that ad means some technical information about your device is collected by
Google — never your job data.
1. Advertising
From version 1.1.0, Hunt is free and supported by ads. It displays a single banner ad served by Google AdMob. There is no full-screen ad, no ad on launch, and no ad ever covers the job list or a job entry.
To request an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the App sends the following to Google and its advertising partners:
- Your device’s advertising ID (a resettable identifier Android provides for advertising) and app-set ID.
- Coarse device and app information — device model, operating system version, language, screen size, and the fact that the ad request came from Hunt.
- Your IP address, from which Google can estimate an approximate (city-level) location.
- Interactions with the ad and with the app screen showing it, and basic diagnostic and performance data, used to count impressions, detect invalid traffic and fix faults.
This data is collected by Google and shared with Google as an advertising partner. It is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google’s handling of it is covered by the Google Privacy & Terms and the AdMob partner policies.
Consent in Europe. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Hunt shows a Google-certified consent form the first time it runs and records your choice. If you do not consent to personalised advertising, the App requests non-personalised ads instead. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
2. Your Job Data Stays on Your Device
Everything you enter — job entries, company and role details, application stages, reminders, and notes — is stored only on your device in the App’s local SQLite database. It is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with Google, an advertiser, or anyone else. The ad request described above carries none of it.
We operate no servers and hold no copy of your data. There is no account, login, or sign-up. If you uninstall the App or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by us.
Hunt does not read your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or photos.
3. Reminders & Notifications
Hunt can schedule local reminders to help you follow up on your applications. These reminders are generated and delivered entirely on your device using the operating system’s local notification features. No reminder content is sent to us or any external service. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
4. Permissions
Hunt does not request access to sensitive device permissions such as location, contacts, camera, or microphone. It may request permission to show local notifications so it can deliver the reminders you set. Granting this is optional and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
Hunt declares the INTERNET permission and the advertising-ID permission.
Both exist solely so the banner ad described in section 1 can be requested. Your job
data is never sent over that connection.
5. Children’s Privacy
Hunt is a job-application tracker intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad content is restricted to a general-audience rating.
6. Data Security
Your job data is stored only on your own device and is never transmitted, so its security depends on your device’s own protections (e.g. screen lock and OS-level security). We recommend keeping your device secured. The advertising data described in section 1 is sent to Google over an encrypted (TLS) connection.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
