MicroWin — Privacy Policy

The short version

Your habit data stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, and no sync — every habit you track and every day you mark done is stored only on your phone, and we never receive it.

MicroWin is free and supported by ads. As of version 1.1.0 the app shows ads from Google AdMob, and to do that it uses your device's advertising ID and needs internet access. That is the one thing that leaves your phone, and this policy explains exactly what it involves. Earlier versions of MicroWin carried no ads and made no network requests at all.

How the app works

MicroWin tracks exactly one habit for you and deliberately refuses to add a second. You name your habit, tap Done each day, and the app keeps your streak. All of this is stored locally on your device using your phone's on-device storage. We operate no backend, so your habit and streak are never sent to us. The app's only network activity is requesting ads from Google AdMob (see Advertising below).

Data We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ We do NOT use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs

Where your data is stored

Your habit name, your daily completions, and your streak are saved in the app's own private, on-device storage and are never transmitted off the device. If you reset or replace your habit inside the app, the previous data is overwritten on your device.

Permissions

• Notifications — Optional. If you turn on the daily reminder, MicroWin schedules a single local notification (by default at 8:00 PM) to nudge you to mark your habit done. The reminder is generated entirely on your device; nothing is sent to or from a server. You can turn it off at any time.
• Run at startup — Optional. Used only so your local daily reminder survives a device restart. It does not run any background network activity.
• Internet — Used solely to request ads. Your habit data is never sent over it.
• Advertising ID — Used by Google AdMob to serve ads, as described below.

Advertising

MicroWin is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. There are no in-app purchases. Ads appear in two places only: a banner on the home screen, and an occasional full-screen ad when you open the Weekly review. There is never an ad on the tap itself — marking your habit done is never interrupted.

To serve those ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google a limited set of advertising data: your device's advertising ID, coarse device and app information, and an approximate location inferred from your IP address. This is shared with Google as an advertising partner. Google's handling of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app shows you Google's consent form and honours your choice. If you do not consent to personalised ads, the app requests non-personalised ads instead. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your habit data lives on your device only. Because we operate no servers, there is nothing for us to retain, delete, or hand over. Advertising data is held by Google, not by us — use the Android ad settings above to reset or opt out.

• Reset or replace your habit from within the app, or
• Go to Settings → Apps → MicroWin → Storage → Clear Data to erase all locally stored app data, or
• Uninstall the app to permanently remove everything associated with it from your device.

Children's Privacy

MicroWin is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ad content is limited to Google's "G" (general audience) rating.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always indicated by the "Last updated" date above.
