💊 Supplement Buddy — Privacy Policy

Introduction

Supplement Buddy ("we", "our", "the app") is a free supplement and vitamin tracker developed and published by Rizwan Shoaib. Two things are true at once, and this policy keeps them apart:

• Your supplement data is local-only. Everything you log — supplements, dosages, schedules, intake history, reminders and notes — stays on your device and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
• The app is supported by ads. From version 1.1.0 Supplement Buddy shows ads supplied by Google AdMob, and serving them means some technical information about your device is collected by Google. That is described in full below.

Data We Access

• Information you enter — the supplements and vitamins you add, your dosages, schedules, intake logs, reminder times, and any notes are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to our servers.

Advertising

From version 1.1.0, Supplement Buddy is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. There is one small banner at the bottom of the Today screen, and one occasional full-screen ad that appears only when you open the Stats tab — never while you are taking or logging a dose, and never on app launch. It is capped at twice a day, and the first time you open Stats in any session is always free of it.

To request an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the app sends the following to Google and its advertising partners:

• Your device's advertising ID (a resettable identifier Android provides for advertising) and app-set ID.
• Coarse device and app information — device model, operating system version, language, screen size, and the fact that the request came from Supplement Buddy.
• Your IP address, from which Google can estimate an approximate (city-level) location.
• Interactions with the ad and with the screen showing it, plus basic diagnostic and performance data, used to count impressions, detect invalid traffic and fix faults.

This data is collected by Google and shared with Google as an advertising partner, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google's handling of it is covered by Google Privacy & Terms and the AdMob partner policies.

Consent in Europe. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a Google-certified consent form the first time it runs and records your choice. If you do not consent to personalised advertising, the app requests non-personalised ads instead. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

What is never part of an ad request: your supplement list, dosages, schedules, intake history, notes or reminder times. None of it is sent anywhere.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ We do NOT collect your personal information (name, email, phone number)
• ❌ We do NOT upload your supplements, logs, or any other data to any server
• ❌ We do NOT track your precise location
• ❌ We do NOT sell your data
• ❌ We do NOT require account creation or login
• ❌ We do NOT operate any server of our own

Earlier versions of Supplement Buddy carried no ads at all and stripped the advertising-ID permissions at build time. Version 1.1.0 changed that, and this policy was updated before that version was published.

Local Storage

The app stores the following data locally on your device, using your device's private on-device storage:

• Your supplement and vitamin list (name, dosage, form, schedule)
• Intake log entries (what you took and when)
• Reminder and notification preferences
• App settings

This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time from within the app or by clearing the app's data in your device settings.

Permissions

• Notifications — Optional. Used only to deliver the local reminders you set for taking your supplements. These notifications are scheduled and shown entirely on your device; nothing is sent to or through any server.
• Run at startup — Optional. Used only so your local reminders can be re-established after a device restart. It performs no background network activity.
• Vibrate — Used only for haptic feedback in the app and for reminder alerts on your device.

• Internet — Used solely to request the ads described above. None of your supplement data travels over it.
• Advertising ID — Used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. Earlier versions removed this permission at build time; version 1.1.0 declares it, because the app now serves ads.

Data Retention & Deletion

All of the data you enter is stored locally on your device only. We operate no servers, so there is no server-side copy of your supplement data to retain or delete. Advertising data held by Google is governed by Google's own retention policies, linked above.

How long we retain data: local data is kept on your device for as long as the app is installed. There is no expiration — data persists until you choose to delete it.

How to delete your data:

• Delete individual supplements or log entries within the app, or
• Go to your device's Settings → Apps → Supplement Buddy → Storage → Clear Data to erase all locally stored app data.
• Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all associated data from your device.

Children's Privacy

Supplement Buddy is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Ad content is restricted to a general-audience rating.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top.
